Clam battle in Ipswich and Rowley, Massachusetts, includes photos of Walter Prentiss, Raymond Adams, John P. Marquand, John Pearce, Charles Richardson, Isabel Hoopes, clam digging in Lufkin's flat. Rita Hayworth wins GI Oscar. Henry Benjamin "Hank" Greenberg of Detroit Tigers and Dave Ferriss of Boston Red Sox (baseball). Feature on the University of Chicago. Henry Pu Yi, Japan. LIFE's artists Floyd Davis and Gladys Rockmore Davis depict the freed Paris of 9145 in color. Indian saris. Another nice full page color Ford ad with family shown in crystal ball.
